Illustration using your inputs, worked out over 52 weeks. Rates shown were published UK rates when we checked (Just Eat 29 October 2026, Uber Eats 31 October 2026) and exclude VAT; your own agreement may differ. It compares commission only. It leaves out joining fees, equipment, card processing, refunds, promotions and delivery costs, and it is not a forecast of orders or profit. The figures above use the starting example of 150 orders at £20 and 14% plus VAT.

How the sum works

Weekly sales are your orders multiplied by your average order value. Commission is that figure multiplied by the rate. If your rate is quoted “plus VAT”, the calculator adds 20% to the commission. A month is a year divided by twelve, so it is slightly more than four weeks.

Example: 150 orders × £20 = £3,000 of sales a week. At 14% that is £420 commission, or £504 with VAT. Over 52 weeks that is £26,208.

Where the starting rates come from

  • Just Eat: 14% plus VAT for orders delivered by the restaurant’s own drivers, from the UK partner sign-up page ↗, reviewed 29 October 2026.
  • Uber Eats: 13% for self-delivery or pick-up and 30% for Uber delivery, excluding VAT, from the UK merchant pricing page ↗, reviewed 31 October 2026. That page also lists a one-off £650 activation fee excluding VAT, which this calculator does not include.
  • Deliveroo: rates are set in each restaurant’s agreement. Choose “My own rate” and enter yours.

What the number means for you

Not every order can move. Marketplaces bring new customers who are browsing an app. But your regulars, the people who already know your food, can order direct from your own website, where tastie. charges the restaurant 0% commission. The standard £1 order fee is paid by the customer.
