How it differs from a marketplace
| What matters | tastie. | Marketplace app |
|---|---|---|
| Restaurant commission | 0% | A percentage of each order, plus VAT (Just Eat published 14% + VAT for own-driver orders, reviewed 29 October 2026) |
| Monthly or setup fee | No tastie. setup or monthly fee | Varies; check your agreement |
| Card payment fees | Paid by the restaurant, at a rate confirmed in writing before launch | Check your agreement |
| Who pays the tastie. fee | The customer: £1 per order | Not applicable |
| Where customers order | Your own website and web address | The marketplace app or website |
| Who brings new customers | You: your shop, bags, Google profile and regulars | The marketplace’s app and advertising |
| Order terminal | Free SUNMI V2 or V3, owned by ACORN RESERVE LTD, with free printer paper | Varies |
The honest trade-off: a marketplace can bring you people who have never heard of you. A direct website is for the people who have. Most takeaways do best when their regulars order direct.
Run it alongside an app, or instead of one
You don’t have to leave a marketplace to start. Many takeaways add a direct website first and point regular customers to it, then decide later whether they still need the app. If you do decide to leave, our guide on how to leave Just Eat without losing your regulars walks through it step by step.

What you get
- Your own ordering website, with your menu set up for you from photos, a PDF or a link.
- A free SUNMI V2 or V3 terminal that prints orders at the counter, plus free printer paper. The terminal remains the property of ACORN RESERVE LTD; model, return and replacement terms are confirmed during onboarding.

- Collection or your own delivery drivers. The offer does not include a courier fleet.
Card payment processing fees are paid by the restaurant, at a rate confirmed in writing before launch. The 0% commission and £1 customer order fee do not cover separate delivery, tax or third-party costs. Read the full offer.
