What it costs

Is there a free online ordering system for takeaways?

Some ordering systems for takeaways are free to start, but taking card payments always costs something, and someone has to set up and update your menu. Here is what the free options really cost, and how tastie. charges.

0% restaurant commission. Your customers pay just a £1 service fee per order, so you keep every food order’s value, minus card fees.

How tastie. charges, in full

  • You pay no commission, no set-up fee and no monthly fee. Card orders have a small card processing fee, at a rate we agree with you in writing before you start. Cash orders cost you nothing.
  • Your customers pay just a £1 service fee per order, whatever the order size. That £1 is how tastie. is paid.
  • Included at no charge: menu set-up, printer paper, a .co.uk or .com web address if you need one and it’s available, and an order terminal we lend you, which stays the property of ACORN RESERVE LTD.

That is why we don’t call tastie. free. You see the agreement, and the card fee rate in writing, before you start.

Using GloriaFood now?

GloriaFood’s own website ↗ says the service will reach end of life on 30 April 2027 (checked 31 October 2026). If your takeaway takes orders through it, plan your move before then, so customers aren’t left with a link that no longer works. Our GloriaFood comparison shows the differences side by side.

Questions owners ask

Is there a catch?

Card orders have a card processing fee, and your customers pay a £1 service fee per order. You see the agreement, and the card fee rate in writing, before your takeaway goes live.

Do I have to sign a contract to apply?

No. Signing up is an enquiry, not a contract. We contact you to agree the details first.

Will customers mind paying £1?

Customers already pay fees on delivery apps. Uber Eats says its fee is typically 10% of the basket ↗, plus delivery (checked 31 October 2026). On a £20 order, that is about £2 before delivery.
