Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo fees: what you keep from a £25 order

Every delivery app quotes its commission differently. This guide puts the published UK rates side by side on the same £25 order, adds VAT, and shows what is left for your takeaway.

All figures leave out card payment fees, delivery costs, refunds and promotions, which apply on every channel. With tastie., the takeaway pays card processing fees at a rate confirmed in writing before launch, and the customer pays a separate £1 order fee to tastie. If your business is VAT-registered you may be able to reclaim the VAT on commission; ask your accountant.

Courier orders from Just Eat and Uber Eats include delivery, so compare them with what your own drivers cost you, not with collection.

Where each rate comes from

  • Just Eat: 14% plus VAT on orders delivered by your own drivers, from the UK partner sign-up page ↗, reviewed 29 October 2026. For orders Just Eat delivers for you, the same page listed 30% plus VAT when we checked it on 31 October 2026.
  • Uber Eats: 13% for self-delivery or pick-up, 30% for Uber delivery (33% for Uber One members), and a one-off £650 activation fee, all excluding VAT, from the UK merchant pricing page ↗, checked 31 October 2026.
  • Deliveroo: its partner page ↗ did not publish a commission rate when we checked on 31 October 2026. Your rate is in your agreement and on your statements.

Rates change. Your own contract and statements always win over any published figure, including ours.

How to find your real rate

  1. Download your last four weekly statements from the partner portal.
  2. Add up every deduction: commission, VAT, equipment, card fees, refunds and promotions.
  3. Divide the total by your food sales for the same weeks.

That “effective rate” is usually higher than the headline commission. It is the number to compare with any alternative, including a direct ordering website.

Compare the same service

A marketplace can bring customers who have never heard of you, and courier delivery saves you running drivers. A direct website is for customers who already know your food. The fair comparison is the orders you pay marketplace commission on that could have come direct: your regulars.

Our guide on moving regulars to direct ordering covers how to do that without losing sales, and the Just Eat fees guide lists the other charges to check.

Work out your own numbers

Put your weekly orders, average order value and rate into the commission calculator. Then read about a direct ordering alternative with 0% restaurant commission.
