Getting a takeaway in Elgin

The High Street has Elgin’s curry houses. Qismat has traded there since 1987, and Natural Spice is opposite the Playhouse cinema and sells pizzas and kebabs alongside its Indian menu. Pattaya, the Thai and Chinese restaurant, is further along the same street, and Pizzeria Toscana, open since 1992, is on Thunderton Place just off it.

New Elgin, on the south side of town, has its own cluster: the New Elgin Chip Shop on Smith Street, and Adolfos chip bar and the Cook House Chinese next to each other on Glen Moray Drive. Across the River Lossie in Bishopmill, The Humble Burger does Scotch beef burgers and loaded fries from Munro Place, with click and collect on its website. Qismat and Pattaya also take orders online; Qismat is collection only.

Deliveroo doesn’t list any restaurants in Elgin; its nearest coverage is Inverness, about 58 km away. When we checked on 1 November 2026, Uber Eats had no page for Elgin at all. Several more takeaways trade in the town, on Commerce Street, South Street and in Bishopmill, but we couldn’t confirm their details well enough to list them yet.
